Skilly for Builders is an embeddable voice-and-pointer assistant for website, SaaS, and app owners. You create a Studio project, teach Skilly from your website content, docs, or notes (Studio drafts the first project skill as editable markdown), lock it to your allowed domains or app IDs, and install it with one script tag. Your users ask what they're stuck on, and Skilly answers from your own content out loud while moving the user's cursor to the exact button — to deflect repetitive support tickets and reduce onboarding drop-off.

## What Skilly for People does

You hold Control+Option and ask a question out loud (or enable Live Tutor for hands-free voice activation). Skilly captures your screen via macOS ScreenCaptureKit, streams audio and screen context to OpenAI Realtime, receives a spoken answer plus UI element coordinates, and animates a blue cursor across your screen to the exact button, menu, or slider you need — while a live transcript of the spoken answer streams as text beside the cursor. Works on any macOS application.

## Skills (bundled as examples)

Skilly works with any macOS app out of the box. Skills are optional expansion packs that add two things:

1. **Fresh knowledge** from the app's official documentation, beyond the AI's training cutoff
2. **Structured curriculum** with stages, completion signals, and UI vocabulary — so Skilly can coach you through a course, not just answer one-off questions

## Tech stack

- Shared engine built on the OpenAI Realtime API (gpt-realtime model, single WebSocket) with an open-source Cloudflare Worker proxy — no API keys ship in the client
- Skilly for Builders: embeddable web widget (one script tag), domain-locked, configured and usage-metered from Studio (studio.tryskilly.app)

## Privacy posture

- Audio and screens stream only during a live session and are not persisted afterward
- OpenAI is contractually blocked from training on Skilly session content
- Analytics capture operational and funnel metadata — never transcripts, screenshots, or prompts
- Website uses PostHog and Google Analytics for first-party attribution and conversion measurement
- macOS app stores auth tokens in the Keychain with `kSecAttrAccessibleWhenUnlockedThisDeviceOnly`

Skilly is built by Mohamed Saleh Zaied (@moelabs_dev on X, eng.mohamedszaied on GitHub), an iOS/macOS engineer who got tired of Googling "how do I X in this app?" fifty times a week while learning creative software — and is now bringing the same voice-and-pointer guidance to other people's products.
